Hearty Stuffed Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope French's Idaho mashed potatoes
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. butter
    1/2 lb. ground beef
    5 to 6 green peppers
    tomato sauce
Preparation
    Prepare potatoes as directed, except reduce water to 1 1/4 cups; cool slightly.
    Stir in egg.
    Brown ground beef and onion; pour off excess fat.
    Stir beef into potatoes.
    Cut tops from peppers and remove seeds: simmer in small amount of water for 5 minutes; drain. Spoon potato filling into peppers and dot with butter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Serve with tomato sauce.
    Makes 5 to 6 servings.
