Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
3-1/2 cups self-rising flour
Preparation

Cream butter and brown sugar together, add egg, milk and flavoring.
Blend in self-rising flour; mix thoroughly.
Chill 2 hours.
Roll out dough on floured pastry cloth or board to l/8-inch thickness.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Cut into rounds of 2-l/2-inch. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 400\u00b0 for 6-9 mins.
