Large Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cukes, peeled, seeded and cut in strips
    2 c. pickling lime
    2 gal. cold water
    2 qt. vinegar
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Pour water over cukes and lime and soak 24 hours.
    Rinse well. Cover with cold water and soak 3 hours.
    Drain well.
