Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pkg. red kidney beans
    1 medium onion
    1 large slice ham
    1/2 pkg. smoked sausage
    2 cloves garlic
    salt and pepper
    rice
Preparation
    In a large pot filled 3/4 full of water, add beans and cook until water is below bean level.
    In a large skillet, saute onion, garlic, sausage and ham until the onion is translucent.
    Put ingredients in pot with beans. Refill pot with hot water and cook until the water has turned into a thick gravy.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    Cook rice separately.
    Serve red beans over the rice.
