Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
3 c. milk
5 eggs
1/4 c. oleo
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 1/2 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
5 tsp. water
5 tsp. sugar
1 cooked pie shell
Preparation

Combine sugar and flour; separate eggs.
Add yolks, oleo and salt, cooking in a double boiler until thick.
Add vanilla and coconut.
Pour into pie shell.
Mix egg whites, cream of tartar and water.
Beat until whites peak; slowly add sugar.
Cover filling in shell with the meringue mixture and bake at 300\u00b0 until lightly browned.
