Debbie'S Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh or frozen broccoli
    1/2 c. water
    1 qt. chicken broth or 4 chicken bouillon cubes and 1 qt. water
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 qt. half and half
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Clean broccoli, remove stems and cut into 1/2-inch pieces. Steam in 1/2 cup water until tender.
    Do not drain.
    Melt butter in saucepan, add flour to make paste.
    Add chicken stock, stirring with wire whip.
    Bring to boil, reduce heat to low.
    Stir in broccoli, cream or milk, salt and pepper.
    Heat thoroughly but do not boil.
