Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    pinch of salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. oleo
    2 c. or less pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook first 4 ingredients over medium heat in a large pot to 210\u00b0 on thermometer.
    Add oleo and pecans.
    Cook over medium heat to 230\u00b0.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla.
    Stir until no gloss shows and is cooled.
    Add quickly, by spoonful, to wax paper, on work surface.
