Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

1 German chocolate cake mix
7 oz. canned milk
3/4 c. melted butter
1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels
1/2 c. pecans
1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Mix cake mix with 4 ounces of milk and butter.
Pour 1/2 mixture into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 7 minutes. Unwrap caramels and add 1/3 cup milk.
Melt over heat while cake cools.
Pour caramel mixture over cake.
Put nuts and chocolate chips on top.
Dot remaining cake batter on top.
Bake 20 minutes longer.
Let set 24 hours before cutting into squares.
