Mamaw'S Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slightly rounded c. cubed potatoes
    1 medium onion, chopped
    3 slices thick, lean bacon
    1 pt. half and half milk
    1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Cook potatoes in just enough water to keep them from burning. While potatoes are cooking, fry bacon until crisp.
    Brown onion in 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings.
    The onion has a better flavor if it is browned well.
