Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 well beaten eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 c. pitted sliced dates
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Beat eggs with sugar until very thick.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; beat smooth.
    Add dates, vanilla extract and nuts. Bake in waxed paper-lined 9 x 13-inch pan in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    While warm, cut in 1 x 4-inch bars.
    Roll in confectioners sugar.
    Makes 2 dozen bars.
