Apple-Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. margarine
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix margarine, sugars, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg together as for pie crust.
Set aside 1 cup for topping.
Add baking powder, salt and soda to mixture and mix well.
Add 2 eggs and buttermilk. Beat.
Stir in chopped apples.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
Mix chopped nuts in with reserved topping and sprinkle over batter.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
(If using two 9-inch round cake pans, bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.)
