Old Time Gingerbread With Warm Lemon Sauce - cooking recipe

1/2 c. boiling water
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. salad oil
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 large egg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

About 1 1/4 hours before serving or early in the day, preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Grease and flour 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Into a large bowl, measure 1/2 cup boiling water and all the ingredients with mixer on low speed. Beat until well blended. Increase speed to high and beat 2 minutes. Pour batter into cake pan; bake 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve warm or cool to serve later. Serve with Lemon Sauce.
