Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar (not packed)
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp. nutmeg

Preparation

Pour water over oatmeal and put aside to cool. Add vanilla. Cream together sugars, shortening and eggs. Add dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in oatmeal. Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
