Chinatown Almond Chicken - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. chicken breasts
1/4 c. oil
1 c. almond slices or slivers
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. sugar
1/3 c. sherry or water
3 Tbsp. water
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 (6 oz.) pkg. frozen pea pods, thawed or Chinese style vegetables, thawed or fresh pea pods, strung and blanched
Preparation

Bone and cube chicken breasts.
Heat oil; stir in almonds. Cook and stir about 3 minutes.
Add chicken and cook just until meat turns white.
Mix ginger, sugar, sherry, water, soy sauce and cornstarch.
Pour over chicken and heat until thickened.
Add thawed vegetables and stir-fry just until glazed.
Serve immediately.
Makes 4 servings.
