Date Pinwheels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 1/4 oz. pkg. pitted dates, chopped
1 c. shortening (oleo is fine)
2 eggs
4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. pecans
Preparation

Make
filling first by combining and cooking down until thick (like
preserves)
dates,
1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Stir in one cup chopped pecans when mixture is cooled.
