Chicken-Liver Spread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. chicken livers
    salt
    1 medium onion, minced
    1/2 c. tomato juice
    1 hard-cooked egg, minced
    2 Tbsp. minced parsley
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Put chicken livers in saucepan and cover with cold water.
    Add 1/4 teaspoon salt, bring to boil and simmer 4 to 5 minutes.
    Drain and chop fine.
    Simmer onion in the tomato juice for 15 minutes. Mix livers, onion and remaining ingredients and whirl in blender until smooth.
    Pack in bowl and chill.
    Makes 1 1/2 cups, 18 calories per tablespoon.
