Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 eggs, cooked and sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas (uncooked)
    1/2 c. diced green pepper (optional)
    1 medium onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, fried and broken into pieces
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
    parsley sprigs
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into small, bite-size pieces and place in a 9 x 13-inch glass dish.
    Layer rest of the ingredients in the order given.
    Add the sugar to the mayonnaise and spread over the top as you would frosting.
    Top with the grated cheese. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours.
    At serving time, garnish with additional bacon and parsley.
