Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 Tbsp. basil
    6 oz. tomato sauce
    2 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
    salt
    pepper
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Heat olive oil in 3 quart pot. Saute garlic and onion until transparent. Add basil and continue sauteing for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes. Cut up tomatoes and add. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook on simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in soda.
