Fresh Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine or butter
    1 c. all purpose flour
    2 c. sugar, divided
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    3 c. fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped into peaks or vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
    Melt the margarine in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
    Sift together the flour, 1 cup of the sugar, salt and baking powder.
    Blend in the milk. Pour the mixture into the dish.
    Toss the peaches with the remaining sugar and the cinnamon, then spread them on top of the crust mixture.
    Bake in preheated oven until the crust rises and turns golden, about 1 hour.
    Serve warm with the whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.
