Franklin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    4 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 lb. each: candied cherries and candied pineapple
    1 lb. pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Reserve 1/2 cup of flour to coat cherries, pineapple and nuts before adding to the batter.
