Persimmon Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. flour, sifted
    1/2 c. rolled oats
    1 c. persimmon pulp
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening together.
    Thoroughly blend soda into persimmon pulp.
    Add flour and rolled oats.
    Blend.
    Add salt, baking powder, raisins, nuts and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Pour batter into greased 2-quart casserole.
    Cover.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
