Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. Pillsbury all-purpose flour, sift well
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Make paste of food coloring and cocoa.
    Add to first mixture.
    Add milk alternately with flour and salt, which have been sifted together.
    Add vanilla.
    Lastly, fold in soda and vinegar.
    Beat as for any other cake.
    Mix per these instructions for velvet texture.
    Pour into two (9-inch) pans which have been greased and lined with wax paper.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool and split, making four layers.
    Ice with creamy white icing.
