Banana Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    6 c. water
    1 large (12 oz.) can frozen orange juice
    1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
    5 ripe bananas, mashed in blender
    1 large bottle ginger ale (2 qt.)
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Boil water and sugar for about 15 minutes, then cool.
    Combine and freeze next 3 ingredients in large container a day ahead. Take out of freezer 2 to 3 hours before using and let thaw gradually, breaking up with a fork.
    Pour last 2 ingredients over mixture just before serving.
    Punch will be icy.
