Christmas Crisps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (32 oz.) jar whole sour pickles
    2 3/4 c. granulated sugar
    6 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
    1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    Drain juice from pickles; slice or cut into chunks.
    Rinse original jar and dry.
    Layer sugar, pickles, garlic and Tabasco in jar.
    Cap and let jar sit until sugar dissolves, about 15 minutes. Turn a couple of times to help sugar liquefy.
    Refrigerate for 3 days before serving.
    Makes 1 quart of Christmas green-colored pickles.
