Hillbilly Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. raisins
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. butter, melted
2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. coconut, firmly packed
1 Tbsp. flour
1 c, pecans
3 Tbsp. cream or evaporated milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Combine raisins, sugar, butter, water, cinnamon and allspice in a saucepan.
Boil for two minutes. Add 2 c. flour, baking soda, and pecans.
Mix thoroughly; pour into a 9 inch x 13 inch greased pan.
Spread evenly over bottom of pan.
Bake for 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
Meanwhile, combine melted butter, brown sugar, coconut, 1 tbsp. flour, 1 cup pecans and cream.
Mix well.
Remove cake from oven; spread with frosting.
Return to oven and bake 20 minutes longer.
