Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 c. milk
    3/4 c. shredded American cheese
    5 large potatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Peel potatoes and thinly slice.
    Cook onion in butter until tender.
    Add flour, salt & pepper.
    Add milk.
    Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
    Cook and stir 2 more minutes.
    Stir in cheese and remove from heat.
    In greased casserole, layer half the potatoes and cover with half the sauce.
    Repeat.
    Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring once.
    Uncover and bake another 30 minutes.
