Crumbly Soap - cooking recipe

Ingredients

10 c. water
9 c. melted fat (not hot)
1/2 c. ammonia
1/2 c. Borax
1/2 c. sugar
1 small can lye

Preparation

Mix water, fat, ammonia,
borax, sugar and lye in order given in a plastic pail.\tSprinkle
lye in last.\tStir and let set 5 to 10 minutes,
then
stir
again.
Stir
frequently the first hour and half.
There
after
every
hour throughout the day.
Make sure there is no liquid in the bottom at the end of the day.
(If there is, you may stir it several times the next morning.) After it is all done, let it set in pail a few days, then cover soap or put
in
tight
container to prevent drying out.
The
mixture may
look
separate at first.
But it will eventually absorb
and look beautiful and crumbly by stirring. For best results make only one batch at a time or use separate container for each batch.
