Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 small cabbage
    1 green bell pepper
    1 onion
    4 carrots
    salt to taste
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. water
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Shred cabbage, green pepper, onion and carrots into colander, sprinkling layers with salt.
    Let drain at room temperature for 4 hours; press to remove remaining moisture.
    Combine vinegar, water and sugar in bowl; mix well.
    Combine with cabbage mixture in serving bowl; mix well.
    Marinate in refrigerator for 12 hours or longer.
    Yield:
    16 servings.
