Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine, softened
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (3 oz.) can Angel Flake coconut, shredded
1 c. chopped nuts
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Combine first 2 ingredients in large mixing bowl.
Cream well. Add sugar, beating until smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat well. Combine flour and soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
