Sun Gold Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    4 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar to a smooth cream.
    Stir in the well beaten egg yolks and beat until very light.
    Sift dry ingredients together 3 times and add alternately with milk to first mixture. Add vanilla and carefully fold in egg whites which have been beaten to a stiff froth.
    Bake in layers in a moderate oven (350\u00b0).
    Put together with coconut cream icing.
    Makes a large cake.
