Chicken Almond Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. stewing chicken
    2 celery stalks, cut up
    2 carrots, cut up
    1 medium onion, sliced
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    8 c. boiling water
    2 c. cooked rice
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
    1/4 c. chopped pimento
    1 c. blanched, slivered almonds
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine or chicken fat
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. marjoram
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
Preparation
    Simmer chicken until tender with celery, carrots, onion, salt and pepper in boiling water.
    Simmer; do not boil.
    Remove chicken from bone in large pieces; save broth.
