Heaven And Earth - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 lb. potatoes, pared and cubed
1 tsp. salt
2 lb. McIntosh apples, pared and sliced
7 slices bacon
1 c. chopped onions

Preparation

About 1 hour before serving, cook the potatoes in 1 cup boiling water with salt in a large covered saucepan.
Stir in apples and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender-crisp.
