Black Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 oz. black beans
    1 onion, chopped
    2 large cloves garlic, chopped
    rice
    1 picnic ham
Preparation
    Cook ham in a crock-pot, on a stand.
    Save drippings and freeze.
    Discard all fat after freezing.
    Leave lots of meat on the bone for the beans.
    Soak the beans overnight in a crock-pot. Rinse and drain.
    Return to crock-pot with picnic bone, onion, pepper and water to cover; add picnic drippings to taste.
    Cook until beans are tender.
    Remove meat from bone and return to pot. Discard bone.
    Cabbage is optional.
    Prepare as much rice as needed.
