Dingbats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. chopped pecans
    4 c. Rice Krispies
    1 c. sugar
    1 pkg. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
    flaked coconut
Preparation
    Combine butter and sugar; add beaten egg with dates.
    Cook on low heat until dissolved.
    Add pecans and cook 10 minutes longer, stirring often.
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and then Rice Krispies, mixing well.
    Form into balls and roll in flaked coconut.
