White Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cook milk, sugar, salt and shortening on stove until shortening is melted, then set aside to cool.
    Dissolve yeast in warm water. In bowl, add 1 cup flour and mix with hand mixer.
    Then pour in yeast, stir with spoon and add remaining flour.
    Mix well with hands.
    Let rise in bowl for 1 hour.
    Put in greased loaf pans to rise.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Makes 2 loaves.
