Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook cornmeal and milk until thick.
    Add salt, sugar, shortening and egg yolks (well beaten).
    When thoroughly blended, add baking powder.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 in well-greased baking dish for 20 to 25 minutes.
