Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. chopped walnuts (\"black walnuts\")
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil sugar, syrup and water until a firm ball forms in cold water.
    Add 1/2 of the syrup to the stiffly beaten egg whites, pouring slowly and beating constantly.
    Cook remains of syrup until mixture forms a hard ball in cold water.
    Add slowly to the first mixture beating constantly.
    Beat until mixture begins to hold its shape.
    Add vanilla and walnuts.
    Turn into greased pan. When cool, cut into squares.
