Peanut Patty Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white syrup
    1 c. milk
    2 1/2 to 3 c. raw peanuts
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in a large pan.
    Cook slowly until it forms a soft ball in water or measures soft ball stage on a candy thermometer.
    Take off stove and add 4 teaspoons butter, 2 or 3 drops red food coloring (optional) and 1 cup powdered sugar.
    Stir until it begins to thicken real good (which it does quickly). Drop on waxed paper or into buttered muffin pans to cool.
