Everyman'S Pate - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 small onion, chopped
    3/4 lb. chicken livers
    3/4 lb. sweet Italian sausage, crumbled
    1 Tbsp. brandy
    1/4 c. heavy cream
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a small skillet, cook bacon until it begins to brown. Transfer to the bowl of a processor.
    Add onion to the bacon fat and cook until limp.
    Add onion to the bowl.
    Add chicken livers to the fat, cooking until no longer pink.
    Add them to the bowl. Cook sausage in the same pan until browned and add to the bowl. Add brandy, cream, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
    Process until smooth. Pour into a well buttered mold and refrigerate until firm. Unmold and serve with rounds of dark bread.
