Green Tomato Mincemeat - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. (about 10 medium) tomatoes
    2 lb. apples
    2 whole lemons
    1 c. butter or oleo
    4 c. seedless raisins
    1 lb. brown sugar
    3 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. cloves
    3/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Wash and quarter
    tomatoes and unpeeled apples.
    Remove cores. Cut off and
    discard
    ends
    of lemons, then quarter or slice and remove seeds.
    Chop tomatoes, apples and lemons.
    In a 6 to 8 quart
    kettle,
    combine
    tomatoes,
    apples,
    lemons, butter, raisins and sugar.
    Bring
    to a boil over medium heat, stirring. Add salt
    and
    spices.
    Simmer gently uncovered for about 1 hour or
    until
    thick
    and
    liquid
    is absorbed.
    Stir often.
    Reduce heat,
    if necessary, to prevent sticking.
    Boil in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
