Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick butter
    1 c. crushed crackers (saltines, Ritz or Captain Wafers)
    2 1/2 c. sliced onions
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 c. Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Melt butter in glass pie plate in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Add crushed crackers and mix well.
    Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Pour sauteed onions over cracker crumbs. Beat eggs and add milk; pour over onions.
    Cover with grated cheese.
    Bake for 30 minutes or until done.
