Fruit Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. milk
1/2 c. cocoa
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
ice cream (optional)
Preparation

Heat milk, cocoa and egg in double boiler, stirring constantly until thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir in shortening until melted.
Add all mixed dry ingredients to cocoa mixture until smooth.
Mixture will be thick.
Spread in 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
Top with ice cream.
