Heavenly Hot Fudge Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. oleo
    3 c. sugar
    1 2/3 c. evaporated milk
    4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt oleo and chocolate in top of double boiler over boiling water.
    Stir in sugar gradually, about 4 tablespoons at a time, and be sure that the sugar is moistened after each addition.
    Mixture will become very thick and quite dry.
    Add salt and slowly stir in the evaporated milk a little at a time.
    Stir until smooth and satiny.
    Serve hot.
    This makes 2 cups of sauce and it may be stored in a covered refrigerator jar and heated in a double boiler as you need.
    For a thinner sauce, slowly add 1 or 2 tablespoons evaporated milk as you heat it.
