Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift together first four ingredients.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Mix together with pastry fork or blender, then stir just until all ingredients are blended.
    Fill greased cups 3/4 full.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with butter and jam.
