Home-Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornstarch
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Blend all ingredients. Stir in 10 cups water.
    Stir and cook until thick and bubbly.
    Add 3 tablespoons lemon juice.
    Pack sliced, peeled and seeded apples in sterile quart jars, leaving 1-inch headspace.
    Pour in syrup to 1/2-inch.
    Seal and process in boiling water bath 20 minutes.
