Mary'S Yellow Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 2 3/4 c. self-rising flour
    2 c. sugar
    1 3/4 c. milk
    4 egg yolks
    1/2 to 3/4 c. shortening or oil
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into two 9-inch pans and bake 25 to 30 minutes (or until cake springs back in center) in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Cool, then split layers in two.
    Top with Seven Minute Icing and coconut.
