Mediterranean Pasta Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 oz. pkg. dried fettuccine, broken
    1 medium carrot, cut into julienne strips
    1/2 (6 oz.) can pitted ripe olives, halved
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. olive oil or cooking oil
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3/4 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. onion powder
Preparation
    In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, bring 3 cups water to boiling.
    Add pasta; return to boiling.
    Reduce heat.
    Boil, uncovered, for 6 minutes.
    Add carrot strips; cook for 2 to 4 minutes more or until pasta is tender but slightly firm and carrot strips are crisp-tender.
    Drain pasta and carrot strips; rinse with cold water.
    Drain again.
