English Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 beaten egg
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Soften yeast in water.
    Scald milk.
    Add shortening, salt and sugar.
    Cool.
    Stir in yeast.
    Add 1 beaten egg.
    Stir in flour. Knead.
    Let rise.
    Roll out and cut in circles.
    Let rise.
    Bake slowly on a griddle about 7 minutes on each side.
