Mother'S Prince Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 well beaten egg
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 box raisins (16 oz.)
2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Cream together the butter with the sugar. Add egg and molasses with soda. Stir in the buttermilk. Sift together the flour, allspice, baking powder and cinnamon. Stir into the mixture and beat well. Add the raisins and nuts. Bake in 3 layers. Allow layers to be thoroughly cold before icing.
