Watermelon Rind Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 lb. brown sugar
    4 oz. stick cinnamon
    2 oz. cloves
    watermelon rind
Preparation
    Bruise the spices and tea in a muslin bag.
    Boil with vinegar and sugar for 5 minutes.
    Pour over the rind and let it stand 24 hours.
    Remove the liquid and after heating it, pour over the rind again and let stand for another 24 hours, after which, boil all together for a short time.
